Non-destructive imaging and handling:

One of the highest profile scanning projects undertaken by Image Retrieval was the scanning of the Gutenberg Bible, fist to be digitised.

It was digitised by Derek Jenkins Image Retrieval USA, in collaboration with Phillip Bayle of i2s and Richard Oram from the Ransom Centre.

Image Retrieval installed a Digi-Book scanner in the Ransom centre and trained and assisted staff in the actual scanning of the Gutenberg bible.

We take a non-destructive approach to image capture (scanning), using flatbed and inbuilt book cradle to protect any fragile spines.

Lighting is also a key component of our solution, and we cover all your needs with overhead planetary digital scanning camera and low lux-lighting or ambient lighting protection only options.

Bound items are scanned intact without the need to remove or damage the spine whilst keeping the sequential integrating of the pages in place.

Bound items are scanned intact without the need to remove or damage the spine whilst keeping the sequential integrating of the pages in place.

Fragile paper documents and plans are scanned individually on a flatbed, avoiding the damage that could be caused using automatic document feeders or rotary scanners.

You can be assured that even your most delicate books will be scanned without harm.

Now that you know the benefits are too good to ignore, why hesitate  any longer?
