DISASTER RECOVERY
PLAN

Recovery Strategy

A good quality disaster recovery Strategy will always include digital document archiving (document imaging/scanning).

Have you included a document imaging in a Disaster Recovery Strategy?

There is a myriad of incidents that could obliterate valuable and critical information held within your paper archives. These events could be caused by natural disasters like hurricanes, tsunami, earthquakes , vandalism, terrorist attacks and more.

It is not realistic to make duplicate copies of your paper archive stores held at different locations.

However, it is realistic and more financially practical to scan those documents and make multiple digital copies of those files. Once the files have been digitised it simple to include those files within a disaster recovery plan.

However, it is realistic and more financially practical to scan those documents and make multiple digital copies of those files.

Once the files have been digitised it simple to include those files within a disaster recovery plan.

Paper is often just as critical to your business’ day-to-day functions as any other digital information system you currently use.

The Strategic Plan

  • Get your back-file of paper archives scanned by Image Retrieval.

  • Continue to update you scanning on regular monthly basis. This will ensure that you never lose more than 4 weeks of your  historical paper records.

  • Incorporate your new digital databases with any other existing digital information systems back-up plan. (With duplicate copies stored in separate locations.)

  • Minimise panic in the unfortunate event of a  disaster, with the peace of mind that you already have  a strategy in place if such circumstances should arise.

Now that you know that not being prepared, is not worth ignoring, why hesitate  any longer?
